By P. Vijian

NEW DELHI, Sept 16 (Bernama) -- A Malaysian woman who was flung into the
turbulent Indus River from a four-wheel drive vehicle which crashed in Kashmir
last month, was found dead Sept 15 morning.

A police search party found the partly-decomposed body of Cheong Swee Chun,
42, among some rocks along the river bank about 11am.

The body was located about two to three kilometers from the site of the
accident on Aug 25, in the mountainous region of Leh.

"We have handed over the body to the local authorities for post-mortem," Leh
police station officer Mehraj Khalid told Bernama.

He said arrangements were being made to send the body to Delhi tomorrow.

Mehraj said the local driver of the vehicle, who was badly injured in the
crash, was still warded at a hospital and unable to shed light on the tragedy.

In the crash, three other Malaysians who were travelling with Cheong were
killed on the spot while another was injured.

The deceased were identified as Tan Gua Gnoh, 54, Lee Ah Yem, 59, and Ang Ee
Lee, 52.

Lin Bee Wong, 47, who sustained spinal injuries, has returned to Malaysia.

The accident occured when the vehicle hit a rock and toppled into a ravine.

However, Cheong's body could not be located despite continuous search
operations mounted by the local police and villagers in Leh.

A group of about 30 Malaysians travelling in a convoy of nine vehicles were
on a missionary trip to the hilly Leh region when the accident occured.
