MUSLIMS URGED TO MAINTAIN UNITY, SPIRIT OF BROTHERHOOD

MUAR (Malaysia), Sept 16 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin
Tuesday urged Muslims in the country to mantain unity and the spirit of
brotherhood at all times.

Muhyiddin said only by doing this could they attain progress.

"The government is always making efforts to bring progress to Muslims in the
country but this can only be attained through strong unity among them," he said
when handing over Aidilfitri aid to 150 people which included single mothers,
orphans and the destitute at Surau Saadiah here.

Surau Saadiah and the adjacent religious school were built by Muhyiddin's
late father Muhamad Yassin Mohamad, who was a well known religious teacher in
the Muar district.
