The congress would include lectures, presentations and

Association (IBA), the idea for an international coordinating
body for bamboo promotion was born out of discussions at the
1991 International Bamboo Workshop at Chiang-mai in Thailand.
The IBA was consequently established at International
Bamboo Congress in Japan in 1992.
The IBA was later renamed as the World Bamboo
