On September 17 Marat Ospanov would turn 60
Almaty, September 18, 2009, Khabar - First chairman of Majilis of the Parliament, deputy of four convocations, doctor of economic science, academician of “Eurasia” International Academy. He took an active part in state construction, forming of market economy and legislative basis of the country. At the beginning of 1990-s Marat Ospanov led Chief state tax inspection, was first deputy minister of finances, and deputy chairman of Supreme council of the republic. He is author of economic program “From stabilization to growth” and he participated in elaboration of first Tax code and Declaration of Independence of Kazakhstan. His activity was also connected with budget planning and he was engaged in social issues. He worried about problems of healthcare and had time to work with students as he thought the future of the state is defined with its intellectual potential. Marat Ospanov was awarded with “Barys” order of II grade and he did much during 10 years in policy and Parliament. He always said “I believe we will live in the state that is worthy our people”. And one of his two published books was entitled “I Believe”
Memorable actions were held in Astana, Almaty and Aktobe according to initiative of “Public fund of Marat Ospanov” under support of Majilis and Ministry of Culture and Information. The actions will include conferences, books presentations, photo expositions and commemoration meetings. Colleagues recollect Marat Ospanov was scrupulous, thoughtful and responsible man who tried to understand all the details of problematic issues. On the other hand he was open and kind man whose smile took the strain off during Parliamentary disputes.

- Everybody is afraid of time and nobody managed to turn it back. But it is said time is afraid of pyramids. And I think time and pyramids bow before the memory because I think if living people about those who lived before they will also remain alive. And I think Marat Ospanov, who was one of brightest stars in Kazakhstani policy, will also remain alive till people will remember him.
