Jakarta, Sept 18 (ANTARA) - A postal cargo officer at Soekarno-Hatta airport here Friday intercepted a package of illegal fire arms being sent from Bandung, West Java, to Medan, North Sumatra.

The Jakarta Police (Polda) communication and information center said the weapons were found by the postal cargo officer when he was checking mail delivery packages at the airport.

At first , the officer found two 60 x 20 cm white cases , weighing 2.4 kg each that could not be penetrated by X-rays.
Curious why the cases were unpenetrable, he then opened the cardboard boxes and found two US-made 45 mm caliber Pietro Bareta handguns, along with two bullet magazines.

According to the accompanying document, the sender's initials were BK in Bandung, W Java, and the intended recipient was ADH in Medan, North Sumatra.

The discovery of the dangerous items was then reported to the airport's police unit for further investigation.***
