KT to offer free WiFi connection to roaming users

SEOUL, Sept. 18 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's telecom giant KT Corp. said Friday it
has launched a service this month that provides free WiFi connection to roaming
customers who visit the country, aiming to improve brand awareness among foreign
visitors.
Customers will get roaming service on KT's three-generation network with free
WiFi connection, through which they can connect to the Internet on their laptops
for 24 hours.
Access is available at 30,000 hotspots around the country, including major
airports, hotels, cafes and malls.
"As WiFi access for foreigners is limited to certain areas in South Korea, it
will be useful for international travelers, especially for business travelers,"
KT said in an emailed statement.
KT is the only carrier in South Korea with wide WiFi coverage throughout the
country, the company said.
