3rd civilization forum
Almaty, September 19, 2009, Khabar - At a 3rd civilization forum in Almaty, attendees were able to get acquainted with the “Future of civilization” forecast to 2050, which was prepared by scientists from Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, the USA, the UK, France, Germany, Japan and Lebanon. Developers of the book presented two scenarios of humanity’s future, including a pessimistic one, which will lead to catastrophes and an optimistic one, which is based on the long-term strategy of cooperation in the world. In this connection, the “Strategy of drastic renewal of the global society and partnership of civilizations” book by Nursultan Nazarbayev appealed to participants of the forum. Nursultan Nazarbayev believes that the partnership of civilizations should be based on a number of such global institutions as the UN, the group No. 192, G-8, G-20, such organizations as the European Union, the CIS, the EurAsEC, the SCO, the OCSE, and the CICMA. This book might become a world best seller.
Oleg Kuznetsov, president of Russian academy for natural sciences:
- The World Summit on Sustainable Development is very important for the whole Eurasian continent and I hope that the UN will make the right decision. There are a lot of states, which want to become heads of this summit but I believe that this honour will be granted to Astana.
Nurtai Abykayev, president of Kazakh National academy for natural sciences:
- This book is a result of deep scientific research and it has both a theoretical and practical meaning for overcoming the acute problems of the global development of humanity. The securing of a modern level of development of science, education, culture and public consciousness as well as the will to achieve drastic renewal are the keys to solving these problems.
