To help “difficult teenagers” to find themselves and lead a healthy lifestyle
Kostanai, September 28 2009, Khabar - Five non-governmental organizations with preventive programs for youth function in Kostanai region. In past these children missed lessons in schools and were engaged in suspicious entertainments but now they learn to work in a team. Paintball is a type of sport that can teach risky teenagers to render assistance to each other. But at first children are trained. Everything is simple shoulder must lie down on the knee ... Then teenagers are divided into the "red" and "yellow" and go in attack! Psychologist-supervisors are nearby. They analyze the game and give corrective recommendations. This guy considers himself to be an extremal. Teachers specify he is “teenagers with behavioral problems”. But today he is the hero of the battle.
Igor Zverev, participant:
- I used to play in my team. Different levels of the game, it was interesting to see if we all manage to unite and go out and play!
Igor Vasilenko, head of public fund "Aid":
- And the next day the guys who take part in this project, change their behavior and thus try to fix the new behaviors and then move them into the street.
Public fund "Aid" united difficult teenagers. NGO has been functioning for thirteen years old. During this time, staff and volunteers, about one hundred of them, implemented 47 projects, from preventive till to highly professionals ones with creation of educational, sports and health centers.
Igor Vasilenko says their specialists work even in international projects on the territory of CIS states. Partnership project "Youth against drugs without borders” united Kazakhstan and Poland and then representatives of Tajikistan joined the trainings.
One of the forms of work is sports action with spreaded information, children wear a T-shirt and play with us in streetball. At the same time they can learn how to protect themselves from drugs. The child draws on the fence? Take nitroenamel and create works of art. By the way, some entertaining organizations are ready to pay for graffiti of good quality. In the mid-nineties, such NGOs were funded by the international donors, now state takes more participation in the fight for a healthy lifestyle.
Igor Vasilenko, head of public fund "Aid":
- The system of state orders on financing of social projects was formed during last five years. Now it is 50 to 50. Perhaps the state even increases its funding every year than international funds.
Igor Vasilenko had already participated in two civil forums and he says the state considers NGOs to be its partner. His NGO prepares exposition and educational film for exchange of experience.
Igor Vasilenko, head of public fund "Aid":
- During such forums wee have an opportunity to speak to representatives of the government and ask questions to ministers and governors and propose suggestions on further partnership.
“Aid” fund plans to open paintball sections at schools and psychologists and volunteers will have to work much in this direction.
