NO MALAYSIAN CASUALTIES IN SAMOA TSUNAMI

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30 (Bernama) -- No Malaysian casualties have been
reported in the deadly tsunami in the south Pacific island of Samoa and
neighbouring American Samoa Wednesday, said a Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Wisma
Putra) spokesman.

The tsunami triggered by an 8.0 magnitude earthquake killed more than 80.

The Foreign Ministry also has not received any reports of Malaysians hurt
or injured in Vietnam after typhoon Ketsana struck, said the spokesman when
contacted.

Ketsana left a trail of destruction in the Philippines, with 246 reported
deaths, before hitting Vietnam where at least 40 were killed.
