STRONG EARTHQUAKE IN TONGA

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 2 (Bernama) -- A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.4
occurred in the Tonga Islands at 9.08am today at latitude 15.82 South and
longitude 174.8 West.

A Meteorologial Department statement here says that the epicentre is located
7021km west of Davao in the Philippines and from 7,717km west of Tawau, Sabah,
an east Malaysia state.

There is no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
