New concert season
Almaty, October 1, 2009, Khabar - The Gaziza Zhubanova state string quartet has opened its regular concert season. According to tradition, musicians performed works by such classics of instrumental music as Haydn and Beethoven on the season’s first evening. The new season started the 21st year of the quartet’s existence. The chamber orchestra made itself known to the entire world over this period of time. The list of its accomplishments includes the grand prize of the international competition in the Italian city of San Bartolomeo and the diploma for the best ensemble bestowed personally by the queen of Spain.
Musicians continue amazing their audience to this day. For example, this year, Kazakhstani admirers of chamber music will be able to enjoy all the 15 quartets of Shostakovich for the first time ever. The quartet arrived from Germany only a week ago. The band took part in the third Felix Mendelssohn festival there.

- We have quite an eventful touring schedule this year. We’re going to visit Ukraine then Moscow and Europe. So, we have great plans apart from giving concerts across Kazakhstan.
