HOTLINES SET UP FOR NEWS ON QUAKE VICTIMS
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 3 (Bernama) -- The Indonesian government has set up
hotlines to enable Malaysians to seek information about their family members in
earthquake-hit Padang.
Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia Da'i Bactiar said they may contact the
National Disaster Relief Agency, JI. Ir.H.Juanda, 36 Central Jakarta at
telephone number 62-51-3458400, fax 62-21-3458500, email: posko@bnpb.go.id or
Gempa Padang hotlines at 62-751-9824971 to 62-9824980.
"Until now, we have no data on foreign casualties in the quake," he told
reporters here Friday.
He said Indonesians living in Malaysia could contact the embassy to find out
about their families in the disaster areas.
Da'i said donations could be made to the embassy through Bank Bumiputra
Commerce Islamic (CIMB) account number 1453-001518-051.
Items like clothes and blankets could be sent to Posko Bencana Gempa
Sumatera at the embassy at 233 Jalan Tun Razak (telephone numbers 603-21164000
or 603-21164016 or 603-21480343, he added.
