ICDO Grants Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Medal of Commander

Riyadh, October 04, SPA--The International Civil Defense Organization
(ICDO) has granted the Medal of Commander to Prince Ahmad bin
Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Interior and Deputy Chairman of Civil
Defense Council in recognition of the Kingdom's efforts in providing
assistance and mitigating natural disasters suffered by the peoples
of the world.
Awarding the Prince with the Medal came during the
inauguration of International Symposium on Disasters Management
organized by Directorate General of Civil Defense in Riyadh on
Saturday, under the patronage of Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, Second
Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, who is also Chairman of
Civil Defense Council, with the participation of experts and
researchers from 36 countries Arab and foreign countries.
Upon arrival at the venue of the inauguration ceremony,
Prince Ahmad bin Abdulaziz was received by Prince Mohammed bin Saad
bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to Minister of Interior; Prince Dr. Mohammed
bin Salman bin Mohammed, Director General of Follow-up at the
Ministry of Interior; Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior Dr.
Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Salem; Advisor to Second Deputy Premier and
Minister of Interior Dr. Saed Al-Orabi Al-Harthi; Director General of
Civil Defense Lieutenant General Saad bin Abdullah Al-Tuwaijri and
officials of civil defense.
A speech ceremony was held on this occasion.
In his speech, Prince Ahmad bin Abdulaziz said, "The
organization of this conference came according to the approval of the
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al
Saud, the unlimited support by Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al
Saud, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector
General; and the Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Interior and
Chairman of Civil Defense Council, and came as a continuation of the
Kingdom's efforts to maintain the safety and security of mankind. "
He also thanked Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz,
Assistant Minister of Interior for Security Affairs and the Director
General of Civil Defense for their efforts in following up all the
committees concerned with the organization of this symposium.
Prince Ahmad bin Abdulaziz pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia has contributed to many humanitarian areas, by providing
relief and material aid to countries affected by disasters of all
kinds, and by actively contributing to reconstruction, as well as its
commitment to all international conventions that ensure world
security and peace and participation in international symposiums and
conferences.
