President of Turkey and Prince Talal inaugurate AGFUND Awards

Riyadh, October 04, SPA -- Under the aegis of President Abdullah Gul
of Turkey and Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz, President of the Arab Gulf
Program for United Nations Development Organization (AGFUND), the
celebration of handing over ceremony of AGFUND Prize in its 10th
version in its three Categories will be held in Istanbul, Turkey on
October 13th.
The Award will be handed over to the following winners:

-The international organizations' role in supporting the developing
countries' national policies and programs to control the main causing
diseases of visual impairment won by Helen Keller International
(HKI).

- NGOs efforts in the prevention of visual impairment and
rehabilitation of the blind people won by Annour Foundation, Egypt.

- Individual-led initiatives to develop the blind's capabilities and
invest their skills won by Al Shefa Trust, Pakistan

Also, AGFUND International Committee will hold its 10th meeting and
announce the winning developmental projects on the development of
agriculture by using modern techniques that come in conjunction with
the global interest in the expansion of food production to cope with
famine and curb rising food prices and risks of global warming on
agricultural resources.
