Deputies of the Kazakh Senate have paid a visit to districts of the Akmola region
Akmola region, October 03 2009, Khabar - Less than a week is left before the completion of the harvest time in the Shortandy district of the Akmola region. At a meeting with the Senate deputies agrarians noted that there are sufficient supplies of fuels and lubricants and they have all the necessary equipment for harvesting operations. However, they are concerned about such issues as purchasing equipment on leasing, interests on loans, as well as about the fact that the prime cost of grain has increased while its price declined in the market.
Alexandr Geiger, director of “Aral-Tobe” LLP:
The quality of harvest is currently ranging in the third class. This year is going to be more difficult, as when loans were issued by “KazAgro” and Prodkorporatsiya” all the accounts were settled at 165 US dollars and now it’s been reported that it will be 120 US dollars.
Deputies are working on the bill on “food supply security” at the moment. They are planning to develop revolutionary approaches of state in boosting the agro-industrial complex including the grain sector.
Evgeniy Aman, chairman of Committee for agrarian issues and environmental protection of Senate:
KazAgro will now start purchasing grain which will stabilize the situation in the market to some degree. We are trying to decide how to react in case of price downfalls in the country, in order to come to the market and cause a stabilizing effect through purchasing certain amounts of grain to hold the grain component in the market.
Parliamentarians visited a number of facilities which are being financed by the “KazAgro” holding company. For instance, one of the dairy-commodity farms in Burabai area will start producings fisrt sets at the end of the year. That will bring 12 tons more milk every year. Meat packing plant that has started this year has already given 5 tons of meat. The release of fifty kinds of meat production has been adjusted.
Asylzhan Mamytbayev, the chairman of board of “KazAgro” holding company:
We plan to realize about 60 projects in one-two years for total sum nearby 19 billion tenge. These are different projects in the spheres of plant growing and animal industries. We expect about 4 percent of growth of GDP.
It is being planned to commission 9 new projects by the end of the year as part of the creation of the food belt around the capital city in the region. And 11 more projects will start operating in Kazakhstan next year.
