“Zenit” has built new high-speed boat for frontier guards
Uralsk, Ovtober 03, 2009, Khabar - The high-speed boat intended for maritime belt protection was floated in Uralsk.
It has been built by “Zenit” factory by request of National Security Committee. The boat was built on the base of FC-19 project; it accelerates momentum to 90 kilometers per hour. The length of the boat is 19 meters, the width is 4 and half meters. The advantage of boats of that kind is that they can go 400 kilometers on one refueling and not come to port on service about 3 days. Such high-speed boats are used on Caspian Sea for struggle against poachers. For instance, during “Burevestnik-2009” operation about 150 infringers of border have been caught, more than 20 tons sturgeon fish have been withdrawn. This boat is the fourteenth one that has been produced by “Zenit” factory since 1993.
Marat Mazhitov, the chief of general staff of frontier service of National Security Comitee:
I think that this program of boat building will develop because it is planned until 2015 year. We have placed the ship more than 200 tons displacement on this factory. We plan to float “Bars” ship with military equipment next year. Also we have ordered two more high-speed boats.
