Poacher campaign

Almaty, October 03, 2009, Khabar - On Monday people will witness the beginning of the hunting season and currently all hunters are preparing their sporting guns and other equipment. The staffs of the law enforcement agencies have started the fight against poachers. Traffic police stopped a Toyota car for inspection.

The driver said that meat was presented by his friends. The police found the carcass of a wild boar and such fresh fish as grass carp, pikeperch, carp and sheatfish. Neither the driver nor the passenger had permitting documents for hunting and fishing.

Askhat Nazarbayev, nature oriented inspector:
-The wild boar was killed and they broke the rules of fishing. The fishing of pikeperch is forbidden.

Sergey Naumov, suspect:
-We were hunting and fishing with friends and they have all licenses. Currently, we cannot connect with them. But as soon as we will be able to talk with them, they will bring all the documents.

The delta of the Ili River has a lot of hunting and fishing sectors and there aren’t any embargos for fish and wildfowl export. However, local inspectors must give them certain permitting documents. While inspectors were examining the case of poachers, traffic police tried to stop another car. The driver refused to stop, cracked up on a curve and rammed into the pillar. Fortunately, he was not injured. The driver was under the influence of alcohol. Meanwhile, friends of suspects brought permitting documents to the regional department for home affairs. However, inspectors think that it they are fake.

Askhat Nazarbayev, nature oriented inspector:
-In this document it is written that it permits hunting in the Topar hunting sector and Karakol fishing sector. Suspects said that they were hunting in the Araltobe region. These documents were issued on the 25th and 29th. We are to find out whether it is true on not.

The case will be sent to the prosecutor’s office. In the case that the fact of poaching is confirmed, poachers are to pay a 300 thousand tenge fine.
