FOREIGN MINISTRY ACTIVATES DISASTER FUND

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6 (Bernama) -- The foreign ministry of Malaysia Monday
activated a disaster fund to help victims of the earthquake in Padang, Sumatra
(Indonesia), typhoon Ondoy in the Philippines and typhoon Ketsana in Vietnam.

With the activation of 'Tabung Bencana Kementerian Luar Negeri', the public
could channel monetary contributions to disaster victims, said a statement from
the ministry.

It said the ministry welcomed monetary donations in the form of cheques made
payable to Tabung Bencana Kementerian Luar Negeri.

Cheques can be forwarded to Foreign Ministry Accountant Zaitun Ibrahim at
No: 1, Jalan Wisma Putra, 62602, Putrajaya.
