"BLOG FOR FT" COMPETITION AIMED AT ATTRACTING TOURISTS




KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6 (Bernama) -- The "Blog For FT" competition launched
today is aimed at promoting federal territories as tourist destinations and
increase tourist arrivals to the country.

Federal Territories Minister Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin said with the
online competition, the public could write interesting articles on the
Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan.

"The competition is aimed at putting Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan on
the world map," he told reporters after launching the competition at Pavillion
shopping centre here Monday.

He said the competition would rekindle the aspiration and spirit of
1Malaysia, particularly in promoting unity and understanding among the Malaysian
society.
"The ministry hopes that the competition will promote good and positive
values in Malaysia, particularly in strengthening unity in line with the
1Malaysia concept," he said.

The competition from Oct 5 until Jan 5, 2010 comprises four categories -
general, international, junior and Malaysian media.

The five monthly winners (except international) will be picked by a jury and
based on voting by visitors to the blogsite.

A Peugeot 308 VTI awaits the winner of the main prize for the general
category, a Kia Optima 2.0 for the winner of the main prize for the media
category while the junior category main prize winner will return with a Dell
computer, Sony Playstation 3, Sony PSP, Ipod Touch and trophy.

The main prize for the international category is two flight tickets from
any destination to Kuala Lumpur, three nights stay in a five star hotel in Kuala
Lumpur, flight tickets and stay in a Penang hotel, a Dell computer and
certificate.
