Khoja opens Arab publishers conference 6 Riyadh

Meanwhile, chairman of the international publishers union Herman
Spruijt said the union, established in 1896, includes about 60
national unions from 50 countries.
The union is keen on enhancing the publishing rights as well as
combating piracy and enhancing the pillars of freedom of expression
and fighting censorship on publications as well as development of
national publication industry.
Spruijt said publishing plays a crucial role as regards preservation
of cultural heritage and enhancing the pillar of national entity.
He highlighted the Arab civilization and said it had positively
contributed to the development of the human civilization.
Later Dr Khoja handed over memorial shields to the establishments and
authorities participating in the conference.
He also received a memorial shield from the conference's organizing
authority.
