Gas supply in villages
Almaty region, October 07, 2009 (Khabar) - Blue fuel is delivered to one more settlement in Almaty regon. Today ceremony of official finish of gas pipeline building has taken place in Zhambyl village, and the symbolical torch has been lighted. Now the inhabitants Zhambyl don’t have to gather fire wood and buy coal - long-awaited gas has come here. It is the fortieth settlement in the region provided with blue fuel for last 2 years. The government plans to deliver gas to all settlements of Zhambyl area in next 5 years.
Pensioner Maria Kiyakbayeva said that now it is much easier. Later the fragile woman had to drag buckets with coal and armfuls of logs every cold season. Now to keep the house in warm she should not lift such weight.
Maria Kiyakbayeva, the inhabitant of Zhambyl village:
- We were the first in the village who was connected to the gas, thanks for that. We live together with sister, we are pensioners, and now it is warm and cozy in our house.
The main gas pipelines are already installed on the basic streets. Each inhabitant only needs to connect his own house. It will cost about 250 thousand tenge. The representatives of pipeline company noticed that many families have already signed contracts.
Moldiyar Nurbayev, the general director of the pipeline company:
- This year have conducted 15 km. About 150 million tenge was invested. Further we plan to execute the task of the head of the state, and within 5 years we will completely install gas in Zhambyl area.
According to the akim of the region today only 6 per cent of people have the access to the natural gas. Other homes are heated by coal. The special program of complex gas supply in villages until 2020 has been adopted here, and the government is ready to allot money for the construction of infrastructure. Besides big hopes of akimat are connected to the “Kazakhstan-China” pipeline which is under construction now. It is expected that several pipe-bends would be built to the basic pipe and they will provide villages of the region with gas.
