Energy partnership of Kazakhstan and the USA
Astana, October 07, 2009 (Khabar) - The State Secretary Kanat Saudabayev has met with Vice-minister of Energy of US Daniel Poneman.
The both sides have noticed dynamical rates of bilateral cooperation and have discussed future actions in development of energy partnership. Daniel Poneman has arrived to the country the day before. Vice-minister has been to Aktau and Atyrau where he had opportunity to get known to energy infrastructure of republic. Today the representative of the American government has taken part in KEOGE conference in Almaty. Tomorrow Daniel Poneman will visit the 6th session of Partnership Council between Kazakhstan and the USA in the field of power where a number of documents will be signed.
Daniel Poneman, vice-minister of energy, USA:
- We have expanded the spectrum of relationship which now includes energy, security, economics and cultural exchange issues. The fact that I am in Kazakhstan now show how seriously the United States concern the energy sector. I look forward for tomorrow’s meeting where we will define the concrete plan of cooperation.
