TRXXFM TO RE-AIR UNICEF AWARD-WINNING ENTRY
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 (Bernama) -- TRAXXfm, one of the radio stations owned by
national Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) will be re-airing its award-winning
programme, Tune In To KIDS! on Nov 20 at 3.15pm.
This is in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the
Rights of the Child.
TRAXXfm producer Madonna John said the programme won the 2009 International
Children's Day for Broadcasting (ICDB) Regional Awards for the best radio
programme in East Asia and the Pacific organised by Unicef recently.
In a statement Wednesday, she said the radio station would be joining other
winners of the Special Broadcasting Programme, including those from Brazil,
Germany, Ghana, India and South Africa, to compete for the global overall award,
which would be announced in New York on Saturday.
She said the programme aired a forum entitled 'Listen Up', produced on March
1, with Aieda Mohamad, 14, as a moderator and Farouq Daniel, 11, Izlin Xantia,
12, and Sabrina, 12, as panelists.
"In the programme, the children discussed heavy topics such as the war in
Palestine, social problems and also issues on nature and environment.
She said there was no prepared script in the 30-minute programme and the
commitment shown by the children made the programme more attractive and was
filled with children's creative expressions on air.
