UDAYANA UNIVERSITY PRAISED FOR EXERCISING "TOTAL DIPLOMACY"
Denpasar, Indonesia, 8 (ANTARA) - The Foreign Ministry is satisfied about the "total diplomacy" Udayana University personnel exercised in the granting of an award to Foreign Minister Hassan Wirayuda, a spokesman said.
"This is an example of the total diplomacy as expected by foreign minister Hassan Wirayuda. All circles are involved to show the nation image," director general of information and public diplomacy at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Andri Hadi, said at Udayana University here on Thursday.
Speaking at a luncheon which was among others attended by Foreign Minister Hassan Wirayuda and dayana University Rector Prof Dr I Made Bhakta, Hadi expressed his appreciation on integration of various parties in activities which also involved foreign artists.
"Although the show of total diplomacy takes place at Udayana University, the luncheon was held by the foreign minister. We work together, support each other. Diplomacy is not only through democracy forums or economic meetings. Let's continue," Andri Hadi said.
"The core of total diplomacy that was initiated by Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda, is diplomacy which involves all components of the nation in a synergy and looked at the substance from the integrative issues. This means that all citizens play an equally important role in this concept. The face of the state is no longer dependent on the ability of career diplomats in the forums of global diplomacy", he said.
The luncheon was lustered up by percussion music and creative dance performances featuring 12 artists from abroad who were participating in the training program of arts and culture, percussion music, dances, and crafts in Bali.
The recognition of cultural arts programs which are funded by the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry for two and half months period involved participants from Australia, the United States, Laos, Thailand, Fiji, Solomon Islands, South Africa, England and the Philippines. ***
