MSIAN GOVT CONFIDENT OPPORTUNITIES ABOUND FOR PRIVATE SECTOR IN GREEN TECHNOLOGY



KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9 (Bernama) -- With the growing influence and promotion of
green technology, the Malaysian government is confident that business
opportunities are abound in this field for the private sector.

Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Peter Chin Fah Kui said
with the savings generated from green technologies, enterprises would be not
only be able to enjoy cost savings but also greater efficiency and productivity
which, would ultimately boost profitability.

" From the government's point of view, the adoption of green technologies to
elevate environmental protection and preservation is of utmost importance for
developing nations such as ours.

" In efforts to boost the development of the industry, the government will
continue to lend its support by providing the necessary tax and investment
incentives," the minister said in his speech before the signing of an agreement
between Fairs and Events Management Sdn Bhd, which is organising the
GreenTechAsia 2010, with endorsing organisation.

The text of his speech was delivered, on his behalf, by his Deputy Secretary
General, Nor Azmal Mohd Nazir.

He said this is to ensure the business community will continuously play a
proactive role through corporate responsibility to help save and preserve the
environment.

GreenTechAsia 2010, to be held between April 22 and 25, 2010 is expected to
attract 300 international and local companies and will showcase latest
technologies to protect and preserve the environment.
