RI EMBASSY IN KABUL SLIGHTLY DAMAGED BY CAR BOMB

Jakarta, Oct 9 (ANTARA) - A car bomb exploded outside the building of the Indonesian Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, on Thursday morning (Oct 8) and caused damage to its walls, a foreign ministry spokesman said.

"Almost 95 percent of the glass panels of the embassy walls were broken while communications were also cut off temporarily. But so far, there has been no report of anyone of the embassy personnel being hurt," Teuku Faizasyah said here on Friday.

The car bomb which exploded in front of the Indian Embassy in Kabul killed 11 local civilians and an Afghan policeman guarding the Indian embassy.

The explosion occurred at 8.30 am when the Afghan people were about to start their daily activities. It shattered buildings and smashed the glass parts of building structures within a radius of 1 mile.
