S. Korea to propose anti-cyber terrorism body in global forum

SEOUL, Oct. 11 (Yonhap) -- South Korea plans to propose the creation of an international organization tasked with countering cyber terrorism and reaffirm its commitment to a greater role in dealing with crimes worldwide at the U.N. forum in Singapore later this week, the government said Sunday.

That message will be delivered by Lee Dal-gon, South Korean public affairs and
security minister, who left for the city state earlier in the day to join the
INTERPOL-U.N. Ministerial meeting that opens on Monday.
Minister Lee will express the South Korean government's determination to
participate in world security issues "and propose the establishment of an
international organization against cyber terrorism, which threatens the
international community's peace and security," a ministry official said.
The conference brings together security-related ministers from 64 nations,
including the U.S., Australia, and Japan, for discussions on ways to enhance "the
role of international policing in building sustainable security," according to
organizers.
