HUMAN RESOURCES MINISTRY TO STEP UP COOPERATION WITH NEW ZEALAND

ROMPIN (Malaysia), Oct 10 (Bernama) -- The Human Resources Ministry will
step up
cooperation with the New Zealand government in several aspects pertaining to
work force.

Its deputy minister, Senator Maznah Mazlan, said this followed a memorandum
of understanding which she signed with New Zealand Labour Minister Kate
Wilkinson during a visit to the country.

Maznah returned Friday after a five-day visit to New Zealand.

The Mou would see cooperation between Malaysia and New Zealand in matters
pertaining to work force, like skill training and workshops, she told reporters
at a pre-school carnival at a primary school near here Saturday.

She said the MoU would be followed with an agreement which would be signed
by New Zealand Prime Minister John Key in Kuala Lumpur end of this month.

On her trip to New Zealand, Maznah said she was given the opportunity to
visit a public service center whose role was similar to that of Malaysia's
Social Security Organisation (Socso).
