6th CONFERENCE OF OIC MEMBER STATES` CULTURE MINISTERS ENDS
Baku, October 14 (AzerTAc). The 6th Conference of Culture Ministers of Member States of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) ended today here.
The event, which was chaired by Azerbaijani Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev, heard reports of the delegates of member states.
Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri read out his report on “ISESCO efforts towards continuation of implementation of program of the capitals of Islamic culture”.
The Director General praised relations between ISESCO and Azerbaijan.
During the discussion of proposals for determination of capitals of Islamic culture in 2015-2024, the city of Nakhchivan was elected for 2018.
Destruction of Azerbaijani monuments during Armenia`s occupation was included into the ISESCO resolution.
The conferees passed a resolution on creation of ISESCO special committee for investigation of the destroyed monuments in Nagorno-Karabakh.
As stated, the next conference will be held in Algeria in October, 2011.
