BAHRAIN OFFERS INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES, MIFC GROUP TOLD
From Premalatha Jayaraman
MANAMA (Bahrain), Oct 14 (Bernama) -- Bahrain is offering investment
opportunities in the financial, healthcare, information and communications
technology (ICT), and education and training sectors as well as professional,
manufacturing and industrial services.
Bahrain Economic Development Board's chief executive Shaikh Mohammed Isa
Al-Khalifa said that investment in healthcare services was growing fast due to
increasing demand.
"Bahrain is a cost-competitive place to do business and there are world
leaders like HSBC and KPMG doing business in this country," he said during a
briefing for the Malaysia International Islamic Financial Centre (MIFC)
delegation to Bahrain here today.
Also present at the briefing were Malaysian Crown Prince of Perak state,
Raja Dr Nazrin Shah, and Bank Negara Malaysia's (central bank) deputy governor
Mohd Razif Abdul Kadir.
The MIFC delegation comprises more than 80 participants taking part in the
roadshow to Qatar and Bahrain.
The roadshow delegation comprising regulators and industry players is led by
Raja Nazrin, who is also the financial ambassador to the MIFC initiatives.
At the briefing, delegation members were given an insight into Bahrain's
economic vision and strategy.
The briefing was held at the Bahrain National Museum, which Raja Nazrin
later visited.
