N. Korea accuses South of violating sea border, warns of naval clash

SEOUL, Oct. 15 (Yonhap) -- North Korea on Thursday accused South Korea of
habitually violating a border in the West Sea and warned it will respond with
military action should the violations continue.
"The South Korean military authorities' intrusion of warships into the
territorial waters of the north side is part of their premeditated moves to
deliberately escalate tension in the waters, a hotbed of conflict, and
deteriorate the north-south relations once again," the Navy Command of the Korean
People's Army said in a report carried by the North's Korean Central News Agency.
"It is clear to everyone what consequences the third skirmish in the West Sea of
Korea will entail," it said.
"The warmongers of the South Korean military should stop their rash acts," it
said, "They should bear in mind that warnings are bound to be followed by
actions."
The North Korean Navy accused the South of violating the sea border 10 times on
Oct. 12. Two bloody skirmishes occurred along the inter-Korean border in the
Yellow Sea, claiming scores of lives on both sides.
The statement came as relations are improving with dialogue between the two sides.
