Currently, about 3500 of Kazakhstan’s students are studying in the UK and almost half of them are on the Bolashak scholarship program. Dana Iskakova, a first year student at the University of London, said that she was interested in the issue of energy supply which was raised in the president’s lecture. Dana Iskakova, economics faculty student, University of London:
- I have been preparing a project which is devoted to solar energy and I’ve come to the conclusion that this kind of energy has a future. Also, I was pleased that the president is supporting young people and liked his intellectual revolution. I believe that young people will try to make a contribution to the implementation of these ideas.
Students believe that the president’s initiatives on the increase of the education level in rural areas, changing the system of scientific activity, financing and measures on legislative incentives of investments in innovative production are important and a good opportunity.
Erik Karabayev, economics faculty student, University of London:
- Initiated steps are important because youth and education are going to be critical factors in forming of future of our state. It is hard to make someone invest, we should systematically, fundamentally change infrastructure, consider economical side all reformations.
Students also think that President’s initiatives in rural education development and change of science financing system are very timely.
