The presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia have positively estimated the exercises of Collective Forces of OCST
Almaty, October 16, 2009, Khabar - Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan:
- Today we have spent military exercises of the Organization of collective security which have received an appreciation of all presidents. And it is a great honor for us. This Organization should perform the big work together with Russia and other states on opposition to external threats, terrorism, on struggle against drugs and for prevention of other threats. It is very important for safety of Kazakhstan. Such exercises in which 15 thousand persons, 1500 units of the armor, more than hundred planes took part, probably, were not spent since disintegration of Soviet Union. All have given high appreciation to them. It is possible to tell that it is a merit of our military department, a merit of our generals ordering armies, the big merit of our soldiers. I express gratitude to all of them.
Dmitriy Medvedev, President of Russian Federation:
- I estimate it very highly; it is really a prominent event in the development of OCST and our cooperation. I want note that we have invented the idea of creation of Collective force of rapid reaction in the December of last year at informal summit that took place in Kazakhstan. And now, in October we have not only signed and ratified documents on creation of Collective forces, but we have really seen their interaction. It is incredible speed for our relations, and this is how we should work on other integration projects.
