CAPACITY OF GAS STORAGE FACILITIES IN AZERBAIJAN SET TO BE INCREASED
Baku, October 18 (AzerTAc).”The capacity of gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan is increasing and it is a good thing. We stored over 1,800,000,000 mln cubic meters in the underground facilities. It is a huge figure,” said President Ilham Aliyev at the Cabinet`s meeting
“A few years ago we could only have a reserve of 500 mln cubic meters because we did not have gas and gas storages were in poor conditions. Now, we have 1.8 billion cubic meters. It is an irreplaceable reserve for the wintertime and resource base for the export,” he said.
The Head of State also stressed the need to renovate gas storage facilities, build new gas pipelines and increase the capacity of storages up to 5 billion cubic meters.
