M'SIAN GOVT SEEKS PUBLIC FEEDBACK ON IMPROVING NATIONAL UNITY

PUTRAJAYA, Oct 19 (Bernama) -- The government is seeking public feedback and
ideas on ways to improve national unity in Malaysia.

According to a statement from the office of the Minister in the Prime
Minister's Department Dr Koh Tsu Koon, the feedback and suggestions
received from the public would assist discussion on unity and 1Malaysia at an
idea-generating session or "labs".

The feedback sought by the Government Transformation Programme is led by the
Prime Minister's Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu).

Through the labs, the government planned to come up with radical, practical
and innovative solutions to achieve and promote national unity and social
harmony in the country, the statement said.

It added that the effort to promote national unity, the cornerstone of
nation building, was in line with Prime Minister Najib Razak's commitment to
"1Malaysia, People First, Performance Now," and the creation of "One dream, One
people, One Nation,"

In addition to national unity, Pemandu is also seeking public feedback on
each of the six National Key Result Areas (NKRA) -- reduce crime, fight
corruption, widen access to affordable and quality education, raise living
standard of the poor, improve infrastructure in rural areas and improve public
transport.
