Modern technologies in agriculture
Kyzylorda, October 19, 2009 (Khabar) - Peasants of Kyzylorda region are getting used to new system of irrigation. This year the first tomatoes crop is gathered in Zhanakorgan area. Peasants are glad with the results: water economy and high productivity. It is planned to gather more than 14 tons of tomatoes. Such high result is achieved thanks to new technology installation.
Oraz Aliyev, director of store up center:
- We have submitted 560 tons of tomatoes to the Sairam tomato processing factory. In future we will expand the territory of drop irrigation for 400 more hectares for tomatoes, and 200 hectares for perennial plants.
Agronomists say that 11 cubic meters of water per season goes to one hectare with usual method of irrigation. And drop irrigation needs only 4 cubic meters of water for the same territory. Also store up services for support of small farms were opened in Kyzylorda region this year.
Bakyt Zhakanov, head of agriculture department, Kyzylorda region:
- If small farms will not be able to manage the gathering or sowing they can refer to these centers. For example, this year store up centers will gather the harvest on 8 thousand hectares.
Peasants send tomatoes to Sairam factory in South Kazakhstan. Next year they will be able to process the production here. It is planned to construct a factory by Italian technology which will cost 370 million tenge.
