Ministry of Internal Affairs: the week results
Astana, October 19, 2009 (Khabar) - Policemen registered more than 1800 crimes last week. 1400 of them were uncovered hot on the trail. This information was announced at briefing of the Ministry.
Criminal grouping was arrested in Shymkent. Its members are suspected in organization of attempt to kill an officer of the criminal investigation department. Also the cooperative operation of Russian Ministry of Internal affairs and North Kazakhstan Department of Internal affairs at Krasnodar Territory has finished successfully. Akmola region citizen who was in international search for slavery was arrested there. The issue of her extradition is being solved now. Policemen have uncovered 168 drug crimes.
Kuanyshbek Zhumanov, the official representative of Ministry of Internal Affairs, RK:
- More than a ton of drug was confiscated including one kilogram of heroine and 582 grams of hashish. Subdivision “Delta Dolina” has arrested 48 years old man in Ryskul area of Zhambyl region for preparation of 570 kilograms of hemp. In Merke area of Almaty region 8 bags of marihuana with total weight 415 kilograms were confiscated.
Also the results of special operation “Week of safe driving” were announced at the briefing. 63 thousand times the rules were broken by drivers during the week. 2500 drivers were called to account for driving in condition of alcoholic intoxication; 15 thousand were obliged to pay fine for high speed. More than 2 thousand pedestrians have answered for breaking of traffic rules.
