Nazarbayev’s visit to Turkey starts on October 21
Astana, October 19, 2009 (Khabar) - The Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan has announced that on the 21st the president of the country Nursultan Nazarbayev will start his official visit to Turkey. This visit is aimed at boosting Kazakh-Turkish partnerships as well as the activation of cooperation in all areas. Apart from the ratification of a number of bilateral agreements in trade, economic, scientific and technological areas, it is planned to hold a Kazakhstan-Turkish business forum.
Additionally, the Foreign Affairs Ministry reported on the forthcoming visit of the president of Romania, Traian Basescu. The visit will be devoted to the widening of bilateral cooperation and interaction as part of international organizations. According to the results of the visit, it is planned to ratify a number of documents.
Yerzhan Ashykbayev, official spokesman, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of RK:
- In the period from 25th to 30th of October, we will witness a presentation of the airbase and activities of the air assault brigade as part of the Vienna Document of 1999 of the Negotiations on Confidence and Security, for the participation in which representatives of country-members of the OSCE, the Secretariat of the Organization, the UN Verification Committee and CICA Secretariat were invited. According to the assessment of the Forum on Security and Cooperation, our country is considered to be the leader among Central Asian states in terms of implementing measures of a military-political dimension.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry reported that today, as part of the preparation of Kazakhstan for the chairmanship of the OSCE, Vienna has witnessed the beginning of consultations, which are aimed at familiarization with the international coordination mechanisms, organization requirements and effective implementation of the assigned tasks.
