S. Korea to offer humanitarian aid to typhoon-hit Laos

SEOUL, Oct. 20 (Yonhap) -- South Korea has decided to extend emergency
humanitarian aid to Laos, which recently sustained casualties and property damage
from a typhoon, the foreign ministry in Seoul said Tuesday.
About US$100,000 worth of clothing and foodstuffs will soon be delivered to Laos
to help the Southeast Asian country's recovery efforts, said the ministry.
Typhoon Ketsana late last month caused widespread flooding in Laos' southern
provinces, killing at least 20 people.
