FOREIGNERS POSING AS POLICEMEN DETAINED
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22 (Bernama) -- Two foreigners believed to be members of a syndicate disguising as police personnel were detained on Tuesday while their two accomplices were detained on Sept 30.
Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief Abdul Samah Mat said police also seized a
toy pistol and fake enforcement cards from the men who entered had the country
as tourists.
The suspects were believed to be the four-member gang known as the 'snake
charmers' who were frequently active in the Bukit Bintang shopping centre and
Kuala Lumpur City Centre cheating tourists from West Asia, he told reporters
here Wednesday.
On Sept 30, police detained two male suspects, a Turkish, 29, and an
Iranian, 39, and on Tuesday police arrested a male Turkish, 29, and an Iranian,
37, at a car-rental shop in Petaling Jaya near here.
