89 Air Defence cadets graduate in Aktobe
Aktobe, October 24, 2009 (Khabar) - 89 cadets of the Aktobe State Air Defense Academy have today received their diplomas. A military pilot is known as one of the hardest military occupations. Before flying a plane, prospective candidates have to pass a tough professional and psychological selection. According to statistics, only 50 out of 3 thousand candidates become pilots.
Alexander Sorokin, commander-in-chief, Kazakhstan Air Defence Force:
- It is a really hard profession. It requires a lot of efforts and energy as well as common sense. A future pilot has to pass a very tough selection to be among professionals.
There are 16 foreign cadets among this year’s graduates. They are all citizens of the Collective Security Treaty member-states. The Talgat Begeldinov Air Defence Academy trains military staff for especially for the Collective Security Treaty.
Rakhat Mambetov, cadet, State Air Force Academy:
- I am from Kyrgyzstan. I am happy to be here. One needs to achieve his goal.
Throwing coins in the air is an old tradition. By doing so, young commissioned officers salute success and good luck.
