Al Quds Civil Defense Strategy to be completed soon

Amman, October 25, SPA -- The Amman-based General Secretariat of the Islamic
Conference of Bait al Magdes announced here today that it is currently preparing a
strategy for "civil defense" of Al Quds (Jerusalem), aims to integrate and involve
civil society organizations in protecting Al Quds, enhance the steadfastness of
its population, as well as policy-makers and politicians, so they can be submitted
to the upcoming Arab summit.

The Chairman of the Conference's AL Quds and Palestine Committee, Dr. Izzat
Jaradat, said in an interview Tuesday that a number of experts in Islamic countries
have been contacted to contribute to the preparation of the strategy which is
prepared to practically integrate civil society for Al Quds cause, and provide
material and moral support to Al Quds and its inhabitants , and facilitate
additional support to the political efforts in this regard.

Experts from Islamic countries will be contacted next week to formulate the
strategy's broad ideas, and lay the foundation for assistance and a methodology to
support the steadfastness of Al Quds City and its inhabitants in the context of
education, housing, health and economic issues, and all that would support the
fortitude of the people in Al Quds city on a practical track away from the verbal
support, he added.

The strategy is expected to be completed in December for submission to the Arab
summit to be held next March. In about three months from now, the entire strategy
of Al-Quds-related database will be completed, he concluded.
