MALAYSIAN PM'S WIFE, PRINCESS HAYA DISCUSS CARE FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
By Muin Abdul Majid
DUBAI, Oct 27 (Bernama) -- Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE)
especially Dubai are to learn from each other's experience in the care and
development of children with special needs.
The matter was discussed when Rosmah Mansor, wife of Malaysian Prime
Minister Najib Razak, had an audience with Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein on
Sunday.
Princess Haya is the wife of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum who is
UAE's Vice-President and Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.
"I and my delegation are inspired by the work that's being done at the Al
Noor Training Centre for Children With Special Needs.
"We may take a leaf from them if necessary. And Princess Haya pointed out
that we may learn from one another on matters pertaining to the education and
care for children with special needs," Rosmah told reporters before flying home
last night.
She took the opportunity of her presence in Dubai for the Women in
Leadership Forum to visit the training centre on Sunday.
She also informed the princess about plans to convene the Summit of First
Ladies on Nurturing Women Leaders of Tomorrow in Malaysia next year.
"Princess Haya has offered her full support for the proposed conference,"
Rosmah said, adding that she had invited the princess to attend the summit.
She called for the convening of the summit to seek ways to advance women's
role in leadership as well as address issues affecting them in her keynote
address at the forum.
"I've also extended an invitation for her to visit Malaysia. She visited
Malaysia once," Rosmah said, adding that Princess Haya had expressed admiration
for Malaysia's progress and development.
