EU COUNCIL ENDORSES ESTABLISHMENT OF HUMAN RIGHTS DIALOGUE WITH INDONESIA
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 28 (Bernama) -- The Council of the European Union (EU)has endorsed the establishment of a human rights dialogue with Indonesia and is looking forward to its forthcoming launch.
The council adopted several conclusions at its External Council Meeting in
Luxembourg Tuesday including the endorsement to establish the human rights
dialogue with Indonesia.
"The Council recalls the adoption in 2001 of the European Union Guidelines
on human rights dialogues, revised in 2008," it said in statement to Bernama.
The Council recognises the importance of strengthening the existing
relationship between the EU and Indonesia, with a view to enhancing cooperation.
It welcomes the common will to consolidate, deepen and diversify their
relations in the area of human rights, the statement said..
