SCOMI BAGS ENVIRONMENTAL AWARD IN KERALA

NEW DELHI, Oct 28 (Bernama) -- Scomi Engineering Berhad has been awarded the Greentech Environment Excellence Silver Award 2009 for adopting environmental friendly measures in its engineering sector.

Scomi Engineering, a subsidiary of Scomi Group, received the award at the
Greentech 2009 Global Environment Conference on "Climate Change on Risk,
Challenges and Solutions", held in Kerala recently.

Scomi was handed the award under the environmental management
category -- where raw materials and products used in the manufacture of buses
and coaches complied with eco-friendly standards.

"This recognition is a clear testimony of our capabilities and certainly a
key motivating factor to our team.

"We won the award too due to proper environmental management," S. Selvaraja
Chinnasamy, general manger (Business Development,India) of Scomi International
Ltd, told Bernama after receiving the award.

The Greentech Environment Excellence Awards are presented to companies
demonstrating the highest level of commitment to environmental management.

The 11th edition of the Greentech 2009 Global Environment Conference
conference, organised by the GreenTech Foundation, will be held in Kuala Lumpur
from Sept 17-19, 2010.
