SCOMI INKS GLOBAL DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT WITH ARTEVA
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 (Bernama) -- Scomi International Pte Ltd, entered into a multi-year distributor agreement with Artevea Digital Ltd, a pioneer and an established industry expert in Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA) communication systems, in Mumbai, India today.
Under the terms of the agreement, Scomi will offer Artevea's extensive line
of radio mobile communication solutions globally, with focus in the emerging
markets of India, Brazil, China, Indonesia and the Gulf States, a statement from
Malaysia's Scomi Group said Thursday.
"Our partnership with Artevea is a key component in our plans to establish
and expand our expertise in new emerging markets such as India," said Kanesan
Veluppillai, President, Scomi International.
Scomi International is the business division of Scomi Group, a global
technology enterprise involved in oil field services, public transportation and
marine service.
Kanesan said that the addition of Artevea's world-class products to its
line-up would complement its monorail and other urban transportation systems,
offering end-to-end solutions, competitive pricing, convenience and faster
time-to-market to customers world-wide.
Meanwhile, Artevea Director Samarth Parekh said the relationship gives Scomi
broader reach in new markets and at the same time opens up new opportunities for
Artevea in the fast expanding urban transportation market.
Artevea's unique offering of its distributed soft switch TETRA network would
not only enable Scomi to provide world class critical communications in its own
projects but also enhance the product portfolio in its global business, added
Samarth.
Meanwhile, the statement said the public transportation sector would see a
substantial increase in the number of tenders called for monorails in 2009 and
2010 which Scomi was well positioned to participate and take advantage of.
Besides the Mumbai monorail project secured earlier this year, the company
has planned for further expansion into Bangalore and Delhi.
In terms of investments, the company will set up regional offices in
Brazil, China and in the Gulf cities of Dubai, Jeddah and Riyadh to gear up
capabilities to meet the rising demand.
