MALAYSIA SHOULD LURE SAUDI ARABIAN FEMALE ENTREPRENEURS

KANGAR (Malaysia), Oct 30 (Bernama) -- Saudi Arabian female entrepreneurs
can focus on investing in various sectors of Malaysia.

In view of this, Malaysia should take a suitable approach to lure them to
the country, said Malaysian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Prof Syed Omar Al
Saggaf.

He said, all this while, Saudi Arabian female entrepreneurs focused on the
Middle East for potential investments, without knowing that they could do the
same in Malaysia.

Besides being an Islamic country, he said Malaysia, with its attractive
cultures and environment, was indeed capable of luring the entrepreneurs to
expand their investments here, especially in the halal product industry.

"Malaysia can provide room for investments for them, including in the
Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER) which comprises Perlis, Kedah, Perak
and Penang (the northern states of Malaysia)," he told reporters here Friday.

Syed Omar also hoped that women leaders in Malaysia would organise a visit
to Saudi Arabia to lure potential investors from the country.

He also lauded the NCER Entrepreneurs Club's efforts to organise the
Malaysia-Saudi Arabia Female Entrepreneurs seminar, scheduled for middle of next
year, to attract female entrepreneurs in the Middle East to invest in Malaysia.

He said Perlis was one of the best locations for the female entrepreneurs to
expand their investments, especially in tourism and processing of herb-based
products.

Syed Omar said Perlis was also suitable to become the halal hub due to its
location, which was at the centre of the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth
Triangle (IMT-GT0).
