Vietnam wishes to boost comprehensive cooperation

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam wishes to boost comprehensive cooperation with Russia,
especially in education and training, said State President Nguyen Minh Triet on
October 29 in Hanoi.

While receiving Prof. Fedorov Mikhail Petrovich, rector of the Saint-Petersburg
State Polytechnic University who is in Vietnam to seek ways to open a branch of his
university, President Triet said that this is a good sign for future cooperation in
education and training between the two countries.

The President said the Vietnamese State’s conferment of the Friendship Order and
the For the Cause of Education insignia on the professor expressed the gratefulness
of Vietnam’s State and its people to his contributions to the development of
bilateral cooperation in education and training.

Vietnamese people will always remember and be thankful to the people of the former
Soviet Union and the current state of Russia for their help training a contingent of
officers who are greatly contributing to the country’s construction and
development process.

Prof. Petrovich said it was an honour for him to receive the esteemed prize,
expressing his hope to soon open his university’s branch in Vietnam .

He said that the Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnic University has so far trained
many generations of Vietnamese students and that a boost in cooperation on education
through student exchanges between the two countries will add impetus to
strengthening the two nations’ friendship.

Prof. Petrovich also spoke highly of the cooperation between his university and
Vietnam ’s Binh Duong University.-Enditem
