Anatoliy Molodov turns 80
Almaty, October 31, 2009 (Khabar) - The anniversary of Anatoliy Molodov, the people’s artiste of the USSR and the Republic of Kazakhstan has been celebrated in Almaty. The head of one of the best choirs in the world, the creator of a choral adaptation of Kazakh and Russian folk songs, a promoter of Kazakh music and a master of Kazakhstan’s musical art has turned 80. Anatoliy Molodov first came to Almaty in 1958.
Anatoliy Molodov, people’s artiste of USSR and Kazakhstan:
- I had a feeling that everything was new, including the people. I was so fascinated with the costumes and music when I came to the opera theatre. I make no secret of shedding a tear because I was so touched.
The main work in Anatoliy Molodov’s life is his choir which he has headed for more than 30 years. The older generation remembers that every single event was accompanied by choir in the 60s and 70s. It added a little sublimity to current affairs. He married in Almaty. Gulzhazira Akhmetova was the first female conductor in Kazakhstan and they met when they were both in Moscow. “She has always been my first helper”, said Anatoliy Vasiliyevich during the evening.
Gulzhazira Akhmetova:
- We have a daughter, granddaughter and a great grandson. He has always been caring and very assiduous both at home and work.
The entire Soviet Union rang with his choir ensemble’s fame. The band received the title of being honored. It performed both in Soviet republics and abroad. Music experts noted that Molodov had a very detailed knowledge of the timbres and distinguished their invisible nuances as an artist. In 2003, Anatoliy Molodov created a male academic choir, a capella, for the first time in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. The first concerts were sold out for every performance. The choir took part at the International Youth Festival of choirs and symphony orchestras in Perugia and other cities of Italy.
