The celebration on the land of Zhambyl
Almaty, October 31, 2009 (Khabar) - 80 years since the creation of area named after great Zhambyl have passed. Zhambyl Zhabayev has dedicated many poems to the native land, and every word is full of warmth. Famous people of modern days also have many soul memories.
Nurtai Abikayev, first deputy minister of Foreign Affairs:
- I do remember every corner. Going through Uzunagash you remember that Tabaksaray was situated there. My school was there, I have graduated eight-years school. It consisted of three houses. Remember how we grew up, get known with each other. That time we liked tobogganing from the mountain where the memorial to general Kolpakovskiy stood. Now all that is another. The area has developed well. It is so prosper. And there are mountains around that were glorified by our great poet Zhambyl.
Aitkul Samakova, deputy of Majilis:
- The adults generation remembers us even by name, and I am happy that my parents’ memory is not forgotten. They were simple, very kind people. They have brought us up and inculcated in us not only joy of life, but also respect to people. This respect has remained and I have come with it here today.
Area is economically successful. The population is almost 125 thousand people. Wheat, sugar beet, potato, tobacco, various vegetables and fruit grow here. The animal industries are developed. New industrial and social objects are entered into a system. Only with help of "Road map" gas is provided to three villages, street illumination to six villages.
Inhabitants of area:
- It is pleasant to me that the area quickly develops. This year the park has been opened, new buildings, houses are constructed.
- There are many sights, for example this beautiful monument. And also there are a lot of heroes, veterans of work.
- If you now come into park, you will see how many children joyfully play. Then the new school has been constructed, the Berdikulov school was repaired. When you come you will see an inscription: «the land of poets». Yesterday big aitys has passed and have gathered poets from all corners of Kazakhstan.
